SMART INNO WORKSHOP:
“On Fund-raising and the Organization of Business Angels Networks”
Business Angels Forum II, organized by ATLANTIS Consulting S.A, was successfully held on 20 April at the National Research Foundation, as part of the SMART INNO project of the Cross-Border Cooperation Programme <<Adriatic 2007-2013>> and in particular the workshop Supporting Business Angels and funding of Start-ups. A total of more than fifty representatives of the business and investment field attended the workshop.
A total of sixteen start-ups and new business teams participated in the organization of Business Angels Forum II. Businesses represented various sectors of the economy, such as technology, construction, food, fashion, entertainment and more. The teams presented their business plan to Business Angels, representatives of Venture Capital Funds and Corporate Investors. The Workshop closed with the award of the best business plans after an evaluation based on criteria of readiness, innovation, and commercial perspective. The award for best business plan was received by Recycglobe, RoadCube and Learning Out of the box. The “Promising Market Approach” award was received by Doobbear, and the “Outstanding Tam” award was received by “Frink!” and Citycrop. Finally, Yolenis.com received the “Clear Investment Opportunity” award.
The success of the event was summarised in the renewal of the participants’ commitment, to continue cooperation with the aim of supporting and promoting new entrepreneurship in Greece, in order to improve the Greek economy. Bilateral contacts have already been made between companies and investors and some agreements are expected to be concluded in the next period of time.
